Pyrography is a technique of engraving by burning the surface of the wood.
The "pencil" with a heated tip allows you to draw like an ordinary pencil, but by burning the surface of the wood with different tips to adjust according to the desired effect.
The drawing is done on untreated "raw" wood because pyrography would be of poor quality on varnished wood, for example.
The protection of the wood and the drawing is carried out upon your request, depending on the intended use of the object. For example, for an appetizer board, the wood will be treated with oil, which will protect it from grease stains. For a decorative board, a layer of varnish can be applied. A difference in shade is possible after the application of the protection. The wood can be kept natural, without any particular protection, for a lighter appearance.
No wooden board will withstand a dishwasher cycle. Cutting boards must be cleaned by hand.
It should also be noted that cutting food with a knife directly on the drawing will inevitably lead to scratches and deterioration of the drawing.
